Dark Fruit Overview
The Dark Fruit (Yami Yami no Mi) is a Mythical-tier Elemental fruit and the top PvP fruit in competitive play. Rarity: Mythical (2% spin rate). Type: Elemental/Logia. Tier: S+ (9.3/10 score). Specialty: highest single-target burst damage, gravity manipulation, Logia-nullifying passive. Unique mechanic: Dark Fruit negates enemy Logia invulnerability—Dark attacks always deal full damage regardless of the target's Haki status.
Skill Breakdown
Dark Hole (Z, mastery 1): Creates a gravity well that pulls enemies toward a point. 200% Fruit damage on contact. 5-second cooldown. Primary crowd control tool. Liberation (X, mastery 50): Releases absorbed enemies from a Dark Hole in an explosion. 450% Fruit damage. Must have enemies absorbed first. 10-second cooldown. Black Vortex (C, mastery 100): Massive AoE black sphere. 700% Fruit damage in 20-meter radius. 20-second cooldown. Primary farming move. Gravity Pull (V, mastery 150): Pulls a single target toward you regardless of distance. 250% damage. 15-second cooldown. Critical PvP ability. World of Darkness (F, mastery 200): Ultimate. Engulfs an area in permanent darkness for 10 seconds. Enemies inside take 2500% total damage and are slowed 50%. 120-second cooldown. [AWAKENED] Dark Awakening (Z): Dark Hole radius tripled, absorption capacity increased to 5 enemies. [AWAKENED] Tsui Tsui no Mi: Liberation explosion radius doubled.
Best Builds
Build 1 — Pure PvP: Stats 80/20 Fruit/Defense. Race: Mink V4 or Human V4. Accessories: Abyssal Crown (+12% Dark damage), Gravity Belt (+8% pull strength), Night Cloak (+5% PvP damage). Combo: Gravity Pull → Dark Hole (pull target in) → Liberation explosion → Gravity Pull reset → repeat. Build 2 — Farming: Stats 80/20 Fruit/Defense. Race: Ghoul V4 (lifesteal for sustained grinding). Prioritize Black Vortex cooldown. Use World of Darkness on boss spawns for massive damage windows. Build 3 — Hybrid Boss-Killer: Stats 60/25/15 Fruit/Sword/Defense. Gravity Pull → Dark Hole → Dual Katana combo → Liberation finisher.
PvP Strategy & Combos
Dark Fruit's PvP identity is anti-Logia: use Gravity Pull to close distance on kiting Logia users, then combo freely knowing your attacks bypass their immunity. Signature PvP combo: Gravity Pull (close distance) → Dark Hole (set up) → Black Vortex if multiple enemies → Liberation explosion → Gravity Pull again. Against melee users: Black Vortex as they rush in, then Liberation while they're airborne. Weakness: slow move animations make Dark Fruit vulnerable to fast-attacking builds (Light Fruit can dodge most Dark moves).
PvE & Farming
Dark Fruit is A-tier for farming—World of Darkness covers enormous areas but has a 2-minute cooldown. Optimal rotation: Dark Hole to group mobs, Black Vortex for AoE damage, Liberation for burst, then wait for cooldowns. The Logia-bypass passive means Dark Fruit players never need Armament Haki to damage Elemental-type enemies—saving Haki stamina for Observation Haki dodging.
How to Counter Dark Fruit
Dark Fruit counters: (1) Light Fruit—superior mobility means you can consistently dodge Gravity Pull and all Dark moves. (2) High-mobility builds with Mink V4—sprint can escape Dark Hole absorption. (3) Quake Fruit—shockwaves have larger range than Dark abilities and can interrupt Dark Hole placement. (4) Cyborg race V4—Pacifista Mode damage reduction mitigates Liberation burst. Key counter: the Gravity Pull has a 15-second cooldown—bait it out, dodge it, then burst during the window.
How to Get Dark Fruit
Spin: 2% Mythical rate. Boss drop: The Dark Admiral raid boss (Third Sea, Ghost Ship) has a 1.5% Dark Fruit drop—higher than Light Fruit's boss drop rate. Trading: Dark Fruit trades 1:1 with Light Fruit or other Mythicals. Market value: approximately 300,000 Beli (slightly lower than Light Fruit due to perceived difficulty). Acquisition tip: farm Boss Raids with a full crew focused on Dark Admiral—the 2% raid-tier drop rate is worth dedicated farming.
